My pumping excitement and I could not sit down any longer or it would explode. My dad was driving me to the National Western Stock Show to meet up with my friend Tessa, who I hadn't seen for quite some time. As my dad rounded the corner, a great big building came into view, "There it is!" I squealed expectantly. This was it, this was the Denver Coliseum where the rodeo takes place, as well as the ticket booth, where Tessa and I were meeting. With my dad's credit card in hand and Tessa on the phone, I asked if I could hop out across the street from the Coliseum, "Go ahead kid, have fun!" he said, "See ya in a little bit!" Barely listening from excitement I responded, "Yeah, see ya!", and shut the door. "I'm almost there," Tessa said through the phone as I absent-mindedly watched my dad drive away in our beautiful, sparkling evergreen, Ford Bronco. Just then I realized I still needed to cross the street. Nodding at the drivers who stopped to let me cross, Tessa announced, "I can see the building!" I started wandering around then noticed that today was very cold and I was grateful that my mom made me bring a jacket, "Sophia, turn around. I see you!" I spun around so fast my hair whipped my face, wincing I saw, not fifty feet away, the silhouette of a teenage girl waving at me. Flooded with joy and excitement, I rushed over and embraced her as I said, "It's so good to see you!", we broke apart and she said, "You too!" Grinning, we walked over to the ticket booth mounted with giddy anticipation of what lay ahead.
