Maui Ocean Center: On Sharks
There is no question that most people in the world are afraid of sharks, and they've got a good reason for that! If you see what a shark can do with its teeth, then you should be scared. Unfortunately that fear is unbalanced considering how media attention portrays sharks as killing machines, and according to the Maui Ocean Center, "You are more likely to be killed by a falling coconut then bit by a shark," What's even crazier is that out of 350+ species of shark, only three

Lord of The Rings
The Lord of The Rings is a sequel to the Hobbit and has some of the same characters such as Bilbo Baggins, Gollum, Gandalf, and Sauron (although he's called something different in the Hobbit) I only watched the movies and they were very entertaining. Heres a brief summary of Frodo's story: Bilbo Baggins gives Frodo the Ring. Sam and Frodo headout to Rivendell, they run into Merry and Pippin. They meet Aragorn who agrees to lead them to Rivendell. Frodo gets stabbed. They get

Bob in Action
As I was walking through the streets of New York City with the large buildings looming in the sky, I had a random craving for some chips. Since I was off duty, I decided to walk to the nearest store, which was a little Alta gas station with its fluorescent lights buzzing on the ceiling. The door made a ringing noise as I walked in. Some guy with a beanie and baggy clothes looked up from the candy section. I nodded, smiling, then walked over to the chips and found some Frito B

Rodeo Time!
My pumping excitement and I could not sit down any longer or it would explode. My dad was driving me to the National Western Stock Show to meet up with my friend Tessa, who I hadn't seen for quite some time. As my dad rounded the corner, a great big building came into view, "There it is!" I squealed expectantly. This was it, this was the Denver Coliseum where the rodeo takes place, as well as the ticket booth, where Tessa and I were meeting. With my dad's credit card in hand

Layers of the Earth
The erth Tis made up iof three sections which are divided into eight layers. Each layer gets more dense as you get closer to the middle of the Earth The first section is called the Crust. It's 1.4% of the earth's volume. The two layers are the Continental Crust and the Oceanic Crust. The Continental Crust is the surface where we walk and play. The Oceanic Crust is right under the surface, and humans have yet to drill past it into the Mantle. The Mantle is the next section o

Colorado State Capitol
The state capitol was made with almost entirely Colorado materials, the three exceptions are the wood (from the Ozarks) around the all the doors, the brass (from Cincinnati), and the steel (from Chicago) that supports the whole structure. This picture shows all the exceptions. Right in front is the brass circle, the wood in the back around the doors, and the steel is in the beams. The wooden frames are all hand carved, and it's done so well that it's hard to see the differenc

Vocabulary Words of The Day
Eligible adjective-meeting the requirements I am eligible for a free bagel. Measurement noun-the act of measuring I took the measurements of the dresser to see if it would fit in my room. Irrelevant adjective-not applicable or pertinent I think it's irrelevant that we don't have cheese for a grilled cheese because I want a salad. National Western Stock Show Parade
January 8, 2026 was the stock show parade in downtown Denver, there were many awesome things in this parade such as the iconic long horned cows and the horses. On of my favorites was the South Marching Band because I'm going there next school year! Here are the longhorns! The reason you see christmas lights up untill the end of the stock show is because us Coloradans love to show of our colored lights! The reason we do this is because outdoor christmas lights were invented he

Executive Functioning Book
For homeschool, I had to read a book about executive functioning, and I really liked the ideas and content but hated the writing style. She had good ideas, such as always having a calendar with some free space for personal time and organizing your time if something comes up. A reason reading the book was agonizing was because it was extremely boring; for example, she would take a whole three paragraphs to explain one simple sentence. She would randomly add an example of a ran

Tangerine
Tangerine is a book about a middle school boy named Paul Fisher, who plays goalkeeper. He has terrible sight, but what caused it remains a mystery even though his parents told him it was because he looked at a solar eclipse with no eye protection. As the book starts, we see Paul and his mother finalizing their move to Florida; his father and brother have already moved to their new house. Paul and his brother are not friendly with each other, and he even expresses fear towards

1984 play at George Washington High School!!!
Oct 23, I went to the play 1984 to see one of my friends act as Julia (main character!). The environment was really well done with serious, non-expressive ushers guiding you to your seat. After you sit down, there is a stage surrounded on three sides by the audience and a large screen with the pictures "Big Brother Is Watching" and a camera following movement in the audience. Overall, it was a pretty cool environment before the show even started. When the show did start, I go
