I absolutely loved this museum because its architecture was beautiful, the decorations really made it an immersive experience, and just the insane amount of research and history put into it.

There was this family named the Rankins, specifically John Rankin, who were abolitionists. They had a 'station' on the Underground Railroad (their house) and helped enslaved people who were running away from the slave states such as Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. John lived on the Ohio River in Ohio, so he mostly helped people coming from Kentucky. Back then, the Ohio River was the border between the slave states and the free states, so slaves had to cross that to become free. In addition to the Rankins, there was another man named John Parker who was a former slave, and he helped people do the actual crossing of the river in a boat. Overall, this museum was one of the best I've been to, and if you're ever in town, I recommend checking it out.
