There were lots of great things about homeschool this year, and I'm really glad to have tried it. One of the biggest highlights of the year was definitely going to Kentucky and Ohio. It was so much fun to explore a new part of the country and learn more about how to run a business. I loved getting a computer, this thing has helped my school work in so many ways, not including the blog posts. I've loved having the ability to just kind of do whatever I want, if I wanted to eat something I could, if I wanted to do math last I could. It's kind of a flex I think, of how many books I got through. I mean, every single workbook was a task, and to have so many finished is so ego-boosting. This year I didn't have to deal with any annoying people like at my old school, I was care-free and happy. I loved how for some of my school work I watched movies and shows such as the West Wing, and The Usual Suspects, with that, NPR was also some sort of the learning experience. At the beginning of the year I was a sixth grade speller, now I’m a late seventh grade speller! I got to do lots of fun science experiments, I dissolved an egg's outer shell, I tested for pH levels in stuff, and some other things. Even though I hate math, it's good that I grew in it and am prepared for high school. Last and definitely not least is how I got to play sports for Merrill. That part of the year kept me going when I got stir crazy, and gave me my favorite sport as well as friends going along with me to South. I am going to miss Mr. Franklin and the Merrill community.
