Kinetic energy is the energy an object has because of motion. The faster and heavier the object is, the more kinetic energy it has.

M.E.L.T.S.:

Mechanical

-Energy that moves (a machine or moving part, like a fan)

Electrical

-Caused by a flow of electrons (a charging cord)

Light

-Travels in waves through space (a flash light)

Thermal

-Heat created by molecules moving quickly (a toaster)

Sound

-Waves made by vibrating objects (tapping a wine glass)
