For homeschool, I had to read a book about executive functioning, and I really liked the ideas and content but hated the writing style. She had good ideas, such as always having a calendar with some free space for personal time and organizing your time if something comes up. A reason reading the book was agonizing was because it was extremely boring; for example, she would take a whole three paragraphs to explain one simple sentence. She would randomly add an example of a random kid (I don't think they were real) doing what she said to do and immediately their life would get better. She failed to elucidate that completely changing your habits takes time and effort, and sometimes is a pain. She would over use words, and it just made for a frustrating read.
