Tangerine is a book about a middle school boy named Paul Fisher, who plays goalkeeper. He has terrible sight, but what caused it remains a mystery even though his parents told him it was because he looked at a solar eclipse with no eye protection. As the book starts, we see Paul and his mother finalizing their move to Florida; his father and brother have already moved to their new house. Paul and his brother are not friendly with each other, and he even expresses fear towards Erik (Paul's brother). The Fishers' new development has its issues; for instance, every day at four, a rainstorm starts, and there are termites and lots of other things. Paul makes the soccer team and is a goalie but can't play because his mom filled out an IEP, which isn't covered by his school's insurance. A sinkhole destroys half of his school, so he gets to go to a new one and play on the soccer team there because his mom doesn't fill out an IEP this time. A lot of crazy things happen, like how Erik murders someone... and Paul attacks a teacher...anyway this book was really good and eventful and I loved it.
